WELCOME TO MY BLOG
This blog also happens to be my college assignment, FYI. I'm commanded to find some foreigners and have conversation with them. So where can find foreigners or tourists easily and randomly start a conversation? Bali. Why? The answer is on our conversation bellow. Check this one out baby!
MEET CAROLINA
That time we went to Sanur and thought about randomly to talk to tourist there. My friend, Sekar had started the conversation, she was the one saying "hi" first and the one who set us up to finally get into this conversation.
Me: Hiiiii! Whats up?!
Her: Hi! Are you her friend?
Me: Yes, I'm Evalina
Her: *pointed me* Evalina? *pointed herself* Carolina :)
Me: So where you from?
Her: I'm from Netherland but I live in London now. How about you?
Me: I'm from Jakarta, its the capital city.
Her: Right, how did you get here?
Me: By train.
Her: Really? All the way here just by train? How long does it take?
Me: I mean we took train from Jakarta to Malang for a transit, and continue by train to Banyuwangi and we took the 'Fery' boat to cross the island. The whole journey takes us 3 days to finally reach Denpasar,Bali.
Her: Sh*t! 3 days? geez man
Me: Yeah we're trying to be backpackers.We went by the cheapest way, well yeah I got my bump cramped. lol. So are you here for holidays? Did you come here alone?
Her: It's sort of a tour across Asia hehe, been to few countries before this and will continue to visit other country. And I came here with my boyfriend. Any of you been to other country?
Me: Wow you must be rich. I stayed in Melbourne throughout high school year. Umm why Bali? how do you like Bali?
Her: Haha, thats pretty much our saving,it was supposed to be our wedding budget, but we somehow ended up spending it for this.Well I like beach. it is nice, beautiful place, we've been to Ubud too and stayed for couple of days and I like the village view over there.
Me: Aww, still it is the best thing to do with couple,travel together. So,how about Kuta?
Her: Yeah it nice to enjoy drinking beers there.
Me: Do you go clubbing there?
Her: Nah, I don't really like clubbing. I tend to enjoy my self with the beaches here.
Me: So its been a while you left your country and even your hometown. Do you miss London? or Do you miss Netherland more?What do you miss, the weather?
Her: London is freezing. I miss the bear in Netherland. In my hometown, we live close to the forest and sometime you would see a bear. Do you miss melbourne? Who did you stay with?
Me: You miss the bear? haha. I miss the winter and the night live in Melbourne. My parents live over there now, so yeah I stayed with them that time.
Her:The winter? but you have the nice and warm weather here. In my country, it gets too hot when summer.
Me: But here is tropical, i prefer the 4 seasons-country. To be honest, I'm not a big fan of beaches. I don't want to get tanned, well don't want to get more tanned. I tend to use whitening skin product though. Pretty much of us do that.
Her: O yeah, I heard about that opposite thing compare to western, we prefer to have your tanned skin. Isn't your type of skin seldom to get the skin cancer, right?I like your skin
Me: Thanks, I wish that I can have color eyes like yours. I like them. Oh yeah I'm sorry, didn't mean to be rude or anything, I hope that we're not interrupting your relaxation.
Her: No no no, not at all. its nice to know you all, cool chat.
Me: And yeah, thank you because you also help us improving our English :)
Her: My pleasure :)
Me: Hope to see you again in other chances, perhaps in different country.
